Happy Birthday!!!

Monday marked the 1 year Birthday for our puppy Brooklyn!!!  It was a pretty busy day for Sam and I at work and new classes starting, but we did all the celebrating we could.

Brooklyn was born a year ago the 21st.  It is pretty remarkable how much she has grown only since August when she joined our family.  She weighs about 6 Kg, healthy weight for her.  As hyper and fun as always, and learning new things all the time.  She got to wear her new collar and received a new toy, maybe a few extra treats to celebrate.

She was patient enough for me to snap this photo with her Birthday hat on, this will probably become a tradition.  I had taken pictures of the three of us, but think I accidently deleted them from the camera to soon.

I ran this morning in the POW/MIA run, taking place on base.  Our unit ran with the POW/MIA flag for an hour this morning, I ended up running 7.2 miles during that time.  It was good to be out running for a cause in remembrance.  I though believe my legs will be feeling those 7.2 miles.

This weekend is a long weekend for us, with the Memorial Day Holiday.  Sam and I will be going on a trip and the rest of the weekend will be used to relax and enjoy the patio and beautiful weather we are having.

Till next time, I will leave you all with this final photo,
Jane

There was a treat she was waiting for!!

Tulip Festival, Netherlands

This weekend, was a girls weekend.  I and two other girls I know from work went on an RTT (Ramstein Tickets and Tours) trip to the Netherlands.  We went to the Tulip Festival, and on the way there stopped at a Dutch cheese farm and shoe factory.  We were given a demonstration of both and enjoyed a wonderful Dutch farm fresh breakfast.

RTT provides a number of trips to local Military service members, providing a ride to and from your destination, informational tour guide, and the best places to see at your tour destination.  This tour we enjoyed the Dutch farm breakfast, with an assortment of Dutch cheese's, bread, eggs, and fruit.  Delicious meal and great host's.

Tulip Festival is yearly, we just made the last part of the season, so a number of tulips were already trimmed.  To take a look at the festival website check out the link.  Netherlands Tulip Festival

Here are a few pictures from the day,

Hope you all can enjoy the beautiful flowers,

Work in Progress

Meet the Swensons

Hello,

Sam and Jane here, Sam and I both active duty military members, meeting while stationed in Okinawa Japan in 2007.  Our relationship, can only be described as the typical military relationship, with time a part and a lot of skype and phone call dates.  We have since moved both to different places, and have ended up together in Germany. It has been an interesting journey but wouldn't change it for anything!!!

Sam from Texas, and Jane from Wisconsin, both enjoy the outdoors, traveling, watching movies, cooking, and so many other things. We both enjoy hanging out with friends, if it is catching a movie, trying out a new restaurant or game nights!!! Always new adventures to be had.

This past August 2011 we decided to expand our small family and adopted our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy Brooklyn.  Brooklyn has been a great addition to our family, always looking for attention, and never leaving your side.

We hope you enjoy our blog, it will be a collaboration of our life's adventures!!

Happy Fall! Well if you look back it has once again been a while.  Writing this in my calendar, the goal once a week!!! Writing on here. Th...
